Madden 24 Cover - Those Were Our Predictions
Madden series is loved by football fans who dedicate hours and hours to this game. Before the release, there is always anticipation about who is going to be on the next Madden cover. The likely candidates who can appear on the Madden cover are discussed below.
Normally, EA reveals the details about Madden's cover closer to its release date. However, more often than not, the player who was the best performer in the previous year gets featured on the cover. Madden NFL 23 was an exception because it had John Madden on its cover, and that was more of a tribute to the legendary coach and commentator. Other players who were featured on the Madden cover in recent years are Patrick Mahomes (appeared twice), Tom Brady (appeared twice), Lamar Jackson, Antonio Brown, and Rob Gronkowski.
1. Patrick Mahomes
Even though Patrick Mahomes has already been on the Madden cover twice in the last 5 years, he is once again the favorite to appear, mainly because he was the league’s MVP and of course, he won the Super Bowl in 2022. Mahomes led the league overall in passing yards, touchdowns, and yards per game. His rating of 105.2 was one of the best among all quarterbacks with over 150 pass attempts. Patrick Mahomes is a generational talent, and that’s why he is already considered one of the best quarterbacks of all time. That is the reason he is at the top of our list.
2. Jalen Hurts
Keeping in line with the quarterbacks, Jalen Hurts is another favorite candidate to appear on the Madden NFL 24 cover. The whole Eagles’ team played amazingly well, including the whole offensive line, the receivers, their running backs, and the defense, but even in the 53-man roster of the Eagles, Hurts was easily the most prominent. Not only did he throw for 3700+ yards and 22 touchdowns through the air, however, but even more impressively, he rushed for 760 yards and 13 touchdowns. Hurts was one of the major reasons for the Eagles’ historic run in the 2022 season, and that is why he is a favorite to appear on the cover of Madden.
3. Justin Jefferson
Drafted just three years ago in the first round, Justin Jefferson has proven himself to be one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. As impressive as his rookie season was, Jefferson has been consistently improving his stats. After receiving 1400 yards in 2020, Jefferson had 108 receptions for 1616 yards in the 2021 season and 1809 yards in 2022. His accomplishments in 2022 earned him the Offensive Player of the Year award. Jefferson is already very popular in the Madden community, and of course, social media loves him as well, and his after-touchdown ‘Griddy’ dance is the cherry on top. After Antonio Brown’s appearance on the Madden 19 cover, it could be Jefferson who is featured on the next.
4. Tyreek Hill/Davante Adams (Duo)
To be fair, we can add Justin Jefferson to this mix as well, so it can be a trio; however, the biggest reason the Tyreek Hill/Davante Adams duo can be one of the Madden NFL 24 covers is that both of them were already playing great for great QBs (Hill for Patrick Mahomes and Adams for Aaron Rodgers), but they continued their previous success not only for the new teams and offensive coordinators but more impressively for the new quarterbacks, and both of them accomplished this in their very first year on their new teams. Hill, while playing for the Dolphins, had 119 receptions for 1710 yards and 7 touchdowns, while Adams had 100 receptions for 1516 yards and the league’s leading 14 touchdowns. We have already seen the Mahomes/Brady combo duo in Madden 21, so the Hill/Adams duo does seem like a good choice as well.
5. Nick Bosa
The only defensive player on this list is none other than the 2022 season’s ‘Defensive Player of the Year winner Nick Bosa. Normally, the defensive players are not featured on the cover. Only four defensive players have been on the cover since 2000. For Bosa, it would be a significant moment because it would be the first time in history that someone from the Defensive End (DE) or DT (Defensive Tackle) will be featured on the Madden cover. Bosa deserves this as well because, in 2022, he was the sack leader among all NFL players. In addition to sacking the quarterback 18.5 times, he made a total of 51 tackles and forced two fumbles. There is a saying that goes around in the NFL that defense wins championships, and if anyone from the defensive side deserves to be on the cover, it is without a doubt Nick Bosa.
